Reaffirming our commitment to the concept of providing quality education, within the landscape of cultural and  socio- economic diversity from which children enter the portals of the school, Bosco Public School, SV, PV organized an orientation Programme for the parents of the new entrants on 23 March 2008.  The session began with lighting of lamp by School Director Mr. Rajiv Duggal; Resource Person Dr. Kansal and Meenakshi Attrey; Parent Representative Montessori Jaanvi. Primary Incharge Ms. Ashu Suri in her welcome address made the gathering aware of the changing scenario in education, the culture and working atmosphere of the school. The resource person Meenakshi Attrey a Dietician from Rockland Hospital highlighted the vital role played by proper dietary habits and stress free life style to maintain sound health.

Dr. Kansal, Director Kalyan’s Health Room emphasized upon the pivotal role played by parents in the upbringing of children and in helping them to tide over the cares and concerns related to childhood.

 Montessori Incharge Ms. Nomita provided the parents with an Insight on school curriculam. In an interactive session, experts answered the queries of the parents who further actively participated in the brain storming initiated by school Director Mr. Rajiv Duggal . The vote of thanks was proposed by school Director.











Bosco Public School , Sunder Vihar celebrated Baisakhi with the soul purpose of exposing the students to the rich cultural heritage of the country. The students of class VI and VII gave a splendid performance on the beats of Bhangra choreographed by the school Dance Tecaher Ms. Swati Pal.

Along with it the students unable the able guidance of Mr. Sumit Narula , presented a song highlighting the festivities and pedigree associated with the colourful festival. The programme was culminated with the enlightment words of the school Director Mr. Rajeev Duggal.














In its quest to provide quality education to its students Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar organized an Orientation Programme for parents of class VI students on 19th April 2008, with the sole purpose of bringing the two most indespensible factors in the learning process of a child i.e. parents and teachers, closer to one another by discussing and sharing the problems faced during transition period from primary to middle section.


The programme triggered off with the lighting of the lamp by school Director Mr. Rajeev Duggal, Parent representative Mrs. & Mr. Grover, Student representative Chayanika Verma and Lakshya alongwith the teachers of the middle department. The ritual was followed by edifying words of the school Director Mr. Rajeev Duggal where he vocalized the importance of a close knit bond between the teachers and the parents.

In deference with the rationale of the occasion the students of class VII came forward & put forth their experiences about the transition from class V to VI, the problems that they faced and strategies to be adopted in order to cope up with it.


Chayanika and Ajay addressed the need of learning English Language, the changes that have clouded the language over the years and how to attend to the problems associated with the learning of the language. Ayush & Isha highlighted the importance of Hindi & Sanskrit in the school curriculum and tactis to be followed in easy and quick learning of the languages. Namit & Konpal verbalized the inevitability of learning Mathematics and its role in our day to day activities. Noriko & Rakshit spoke about social science as a subject ways to make it interesting, easy & scoring. At the end Vidhi & Arundahti stressed upon the development of the scientific attitude for learning of science and the problems associated with it.


The discourse about the various subjects was followed by an interactive session between the parents and the teachers where the problems of the parents were deciphered by the teachers and the worthy suggestions were appreciated by the school faculty with an assurance to execute them at the earliest.











In its crusade of making the students of the school grow into responsible citizens Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar, New Delhi held its Investiture Ceremony  on 25th April 2008 in the school premises. The school Director Mr. Rajeev Duggal conferred Akansha & Ojasvi with the titles of Head Girl & Head Boy respectively.

Furthermore, the House Incharges bestowed the students with the tittle of House Captains & Secretaries Rashmi, Abhinandan, Tina & BhanuPriya were appointed as the Captains of Gandhi House, Tagore House, Nehru House & Tilak House respectively. Gaurav Upmanyu, Arushi, Siddharth & Shivani were appointed as secretaries of their respective houses.

Karuna Kapoor & Neha Maggo were appellated as the cultural Captain & Cultural Secretary. Along with it Sagar Gupta, Ravi, Divanshu, Kanika, Ishu Khurana, Dhruv, Rahul Choudhary, Kanika were bestowed with the titles of Canteen Captain, Arts Captain, Sports Captain, Library Captain and their Secretaries respectively . Meenakshi, Abhinav and Deepti were entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining discipline and decorum in the school. The ceremony culminated with enriching and enlightening words of the school Director Mr. Rajeev Duggal.







Realizing the significance of labour class, who sacrifices their comfort to make the world enjoyable for others, the students of Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar, New Delhi celebrated Labour Day on 1May 2008. A special assembly was organized to honour the class IV employees, in which the students participated in a wide variety of programme Parul of class IX and Bhanu Priya of class XII recited poems in Hindi and English respectively highlighting the tireless toil of the labourers. The melodious group song sung by the students of class VII added charm to the occasion. The foot tapping dance performances Bhangra, Gidda by the senior students made all heads turning. Shivani of class XII addressed the audience throwing light on Labour Day. The school Principal Mr. Rajeev Duggal acknowledged the untiring efforts of the employees and honoured them on the stage by giving gifts. The students of class XII presented them a day of relaxation and rest by performing the tasks of cleaning the school & the premises efficiently.

SAURABH ADHIKARI of class X- A won the title of Best Player in the Table Tennis Tournament (under 17 Boys category) held at Ramjas inter school on 24.04.08. Proud winner was awarded trophy by the dignitaries in a glittering Prize  Distribution Ceremony.
















  In its endeavour to make leaders, Bosco Public School,Sunder Vihar, Paschim Vihar organized a two workshops for the teachers and students of the school on                              12thMay 2008.

In the first session of the workshop the associated members of the Brahm Kumaris World Spiritual University highlighted the need of moral and spiritual upliftment of humanity. The organization independent of traditional politics of religion focused on the need of imparting practical & ethical education.

The guest of honour sister B.K. Sushma. Sister Incharge of the Brahm Kumaris Paschim Vihar Centre, B.K. Ramesh and B.K.Hans senior brothers motivated the students to use the complete reservoir of their potential creative energies and challenging these energies and channelizing these energies in a positive direction in order to transform their lives. The session marked the launch of their programme “Touch The Light” under the umbrella scheme of Youth Empowerment Services (YES). B.K. Rajeev Grover acted as a facilitator for the introduction of the programme in the school.

The following session of the workshop adhered to the need of identification of special needs of the children.Realizing the fact that each child is unique has specific strengths and limitations it is important for the teachers to acquire adequate information regarding the psychology of the students. In compliance to this the school organized an enlightening session for the teachers where the Resource person Dr. Usha Grover from National Institiute of Mentally Handicapped. (NIMH) brought to light the learning disabilities and strategies to cope with them. It was followed by an interactive session between the teachers and the resource person.

The workshop culminated with the edifying words of the school Director                      Mr. Rajeev Duggal.





Boscons decided to beat the heat in a positive manner by participated in the summer camps organized for them by the school on 9 & 10 May, 2008. Classes PW to III spend two exciting days with their teachers and school mates in the school premises. Their joy knew no bounds when they took part in various activities organized them like – Frog Race, Bunny Rabbit Race, Balloon Race etc. the cultural events like Puppet show & Magic Show were thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. The students were taken by surprise when they saw the foot tapping dance performance by the teachers the world of fantasy came alive for the tiny tots when the teachers narrated bed time stories for them. The movie time with the teachers was yet another attraction for them.

The young students of classes IV to VIII visited Fun Town, Bahadurgarh, where they had a gala time. Students partook enthusiastically in dance competitions and got carried away by the magic show. The water rides & swings were enjoyed with great zeal by the students. Children relished the delicious meals provided & were happy to receive various gifts. They had a cherishing fulfilling experience staying together & carried sweet memories back home.












Summer vacations is a blend of fun, pleasure & excursion at Bosco Public School. Keeping the same in view the school organized a four day trip to Shimla, Kufri & Chandigarh from 20 May to 24 May, 2008.


The summer bang started with an overnight journey to Shimla thoroughly enjoyed by students. On way they interacted with each other and made new friends of different ages & classes. Shimla was at its best, it was like a cool splash in lush green surroundings. A paradise away from the scorching heat of Delhi.  The group checked in at Koti Resort 15 km away from Shimla surrounded by clouds and greenery all over.


Our sight seeing started the same day with a visit to Shimla Mall & Central Church. Second Day the group was taken to Kufri the Snow Point, where the famous Shimla Pact was signed by India & Pakistan. Students had an opportunity of watching some rarest species found in snow in a Zoo at Kufri. After lunch the students were taken to Naldhera the famous Golf Course of Himachal the scenic beauty about it was a feast for eyes.


Next day on way back home the group halted at Chandigarh, no trip to Chandigarh is complete without a visit to Sukhna Lake created by building an artificial dam on a seasonal stream. Another attraction adjacent to it was, the world famous Rock Garden created by Nek Chand Saini. It is created by urban waste material turned into creative patterns and textures and mute rocks turned into art objects. The ultimate fascination was Chattbir Lion Safari, where students had a lifetime experience of watching Lions at an arm’s stretch. Last but not the least the Pinjore or Yaduvendra Gardens were first ever created 40years back by Punjab Govt. as a model to be followed by any other states. Cactus Garden with 3500 species & different Succulent was a masterpiece and a marvel of horticulture.


The excitement ended with an exuberant evening at an amusement park where people of all age enjoy go carting, skating, water games and other attraction of fun fair.


Indeed it was a memorable trip, everyone of us would surely one day walk down the memory lane to freshen up the memories.













On the reopening of the session after rejuvenating vacation, Bosco Public School, Paschim Vihar organized a workshop on ‘Effective Teaching’ keeping in mind the changing  trends, techniques & technologies in education. The workshop infused enthusiasm, passion & helped everyone to get back into action with doubled energy.

The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Ira Sehgal who has vast experience of teaching & is actively associated with Times NIE. She has been successfully conducting workshops on stress management phonetics, public speaking, communicative skills to name a few.

During two hour session, she highlighted the ‘changing trends in education’. She explained different teaching techniques to make learning a joyful experience. It was absolutely an enlightening & introspecting session.













A kind gesture! By Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar, Paschim Vihar was shown for the victims of flood in Bihar. Students contributed by donating food items like milk powder, Biscuits, Grams etc. All these items wre given through Madam  Mayor of Delhi Ms. Aarti Mehra.

A team of five students including Head Boy Ojaswi and Head Girl Akansha along with their teacher visited the Mayor House.

The Staff of Bosco Public School also contributed their one day salary for this cause to Prime Minister Fund.

English Workshop

A Workshop on “Adding fun to English Language Learning” was organized by Rachna Sagar Pvt. Ltd. It was hosted by Bal Bharti Public School, Sector -12, Dwarka on 20th September 2008, Saturday. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Seema Jairath, Principal, DLF School, Sahibabad. She has got a teaching experience of about 22 years and has taught all the classes from nursery to XII. She is acting as a guest faculty at Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has been conducting workshops for activity oriented language learning for the last 20 years. She believes in pragmatism and not in theory. Her forte is in activity based learning and so, she has authored more than 25 books. The main theme of the workshop was to bring a change in the process of teaching English Language. It encompassed the key aspects of teaching English Language skills, grammar, vocabulary, integration of grammar in literature. The workshop began with the welcome speech by the Principal of the hosting school, Ms. Gandhi. Later it was resumed by the resource person, Ms. Seema Jairath. To break the ice, she began the workshop with a discussion on problems of English Language. The discussion was further extended to finding of the solutions of those problems. Ms. Seema laid emphasis on learning with fun through activities. Her prime focus was on how to make grammar activity based and how to add more fun to language learning. She enlightened and involved us in various innovative and creative activities like grammar throw ball match, quick bingo, tambola, word tree, ball game, ramp walk, writing on the back, catch my tail, word cluster, shrinking words, memory game, attendance activity, hungry caterpillar, sound blend, punctuation maze, finding your partner and many more. Each activity was a source of inspiration and motivation. It was a rejuvenating and fruitful experience. It has shown new guidelines to the teachers to direct and educate the young minds with new techniques and method.

Jwaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition -2008 (Zone – 17)

Zonal Science Drama and Poster, Slogan, Science toon competitions were organized at Bosco Public School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi on

September 24, 2008. Shri. N.K. Duggal, Director of the school welcomed and felicitated Honorable Madam Ms. Daljeet Kaur, Deputy Director of west zone  who was the chief guest of the event. Madam Usha Kumari, Education officer of west zone 17 and Shri. Bhoopal Singh Deputy E.O of west zone 17 were the guest of honours. The event was well attended by many dignitaries and principles of various schools. 

The event began with ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony followed by melodious rendition of bhajan by Vidhi Kohli. The students of Bosco Public School entertained the august gathering by hilarious skits and satirical poems which made everybody burst into peal of laughter. Around fifteen schools participated in the science drama contest and C.R. Saini School, Nangloi was the winner in that category.

 It was a proud moment for young artists of Bosco Public School as they secured three positions among thirty three schools in poster and science toon contest. The event concluded with the announcements of results. Shri. Rajeev Duggal Manager of the Bosco Public School gave away the prizes to the winners and Dr. (Ms.) Manisha Sharma Principal of the Bosco Public school proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. A.K. Saxena Convener of the J.N. Exhibition, applauded the concerted efforts of Bosco School Team to make the event a gala success.              












Bosco Public School , Sunder Vihar celebrated Food Safety and Health day on 16th OCT,with the soul purpose of exposing the students to the know about Food Safety and How to take care of their health.. The students of classes Mont. to  V  participated in various Activities as given below:

·       P.W and K.G students brought nutritive food and spoke two lines on it.

·       Class 1 : Fancy dress Comptt. was conducted. 

·       Class 2 : Students wrote 5 lines on Balanced diet

·       Class 3 : Students wrote paragraph on Balanced Diet

·       Class 4: Slogan Writing Comptt. Was held.

·       Class 5 : Poster making Comptt. Was held on Balanced Diet or Food Safety.

·       Classes 3rd to 5th saw Power Point Presentation on Food Safety and Power of Balanced Diet.

Harmonizing with these words, Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar, Paschim Vihar organized a two day workshop for the proliferation and perfection of the teaching faculty of the school on October 1, 2008 and October 2, 2008. The workshop was piloted by Makeover Labs from the house of AHA and was disseminated into five sessions conducted by eminent resource persons.


The edifying workshop kick started with session on social graces and soft skills facilitated by Mrs. Neeru Sisodia a senior trainer with makeover labs. She identified the skill to be graceful socially as the need of the hour and thus highlighted upon the ways and means to polish the individual social skills in order to leave an impact on the people around us.      

It was followed by an enlightening session on Time Management by

Mr. Sushil Malhotra, also a senior trainer with the Makeover Labs.

It is centered around the Time Management myths, popular time managers and time management models. The understanding was facilitated through a series of activities orbiting around maintainence of time logs, Time Logs analysis and development of Action Plan in accordance with it. The session catered to the need of distressing ourselves through time management skills.








The second day of the workshop had its ethos in Team Building and effective communication skills. The first session was heralded by Ms. Kamini Sharma and Ms. Sheetal Sharma. The session focused on the need and ways of team building through a plethora of activities. It was an interactive session with the sole purpose to inculcate the team spirit in the members of the organization.


It was followed by a session on effective communication skills and classroom management conducted by Ms. Renuka  on eminent resource person from the Makeover Labs. She put the spotlight on the need to enhance communication skills in order to make classroom teaching more effective. Stress was laid on imparting and teaching the students effective listening skills. From here the focus shifted to the need of classroom management to rectify the behavioral problems of the students in the classroom and the intervention and prevention strategies for the same.


The Workshop witnessed its fitting finale with school Manager Mr. Rajeev Duggal proposing the vote of thanks and the school Principal Dr. (Ms.) Manisha Sharma reiterating the fact that A teacher needs to be learner in order to be a good teacher.       



















Once again in its unique way Bosco Public School, Paschim Vihar, celebrated Diwali by pledging to be Peace lovers and Peace promoters. The week long celebration concluded with installation of Peace Pole in the school premises. The school had the privilege to install Peace Pole under the ageis of World Peace Society. A Subsidiary of UN Public Information Department. A Team of 8 Japanese Delegation, comprising                                    of                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                came and appealed students to promote Peace. In their address they enlightened the students about their world wide Peace and mission and motivated them to be an active part of it. An impressive panorama of cultural items was presented to entertain the guests.



In her vote of thanks school Principal Dr. Manisha Sharma and Manager Shri Rajeev Duggal reiterated that the world is a global village and we all need to work collectively towards attainment of ultimate Peace. School Chairman Shri N. K. Duggal concluded the ceremony with his enlightening words – Peace is not something you wish for, It’s something you make, you do, something you are, And something you give away.
















Universal Prayer for Peace at

Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar in order to bring people together in an inspiring project to join in a network of peace consciousness that is emerging all over the world, organized a Peace Pole Ceremony in the school premises on October24, 2008 in association with World Peace Prayer Society (WPPS) represented by Japanese Delegation of eight members. The WPPS is a Non-Governmental organization in affiliation with the department of public information of the United Nations having head office in New York.


The peace pole dedication ceremony was a unique outcome of the shared experience of those who planned the programme, as well as those who attended it wherein a peace pole that displays a message and prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth on each of its four sides in different language was planted as a constant reminder for all of us to visualize and pray for world peace. An array of cultural programme was presented by the school students along with it to mark the festivities.


School principal Dr.(Ms.) Manisha Sharma reiterated the fact that peaceful existence is the need of the hour. In this vote of thanks school director Mr. N.K Duggal enlightened and motivate the students to be an active and aware citizen of the country and to begin to live and act in the spirit of the peace message.  
















Commemorating the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal  Nehru, the students and teachers of Bosco Public school and Umang special School, orgainized a grand show to mark their respect and adoration for the beloved Chacha Nehru. The highlight of the day was the felicitation by the school management of the parents of the students who have brought laurels to the school and over the years have contributed in their own special way in taking the name of the school to the zenith. Parents of Ojasvi Khaneja, Abhinandan sethia, Rashmi Singh and Tina Rajora were honoured for their commendable parentage and indispensable support that they have lend to the school over the years. The guest of honour Mr V.K. Srivastava, an eminent educationist addressed the students and instilled in them a spirit of sharing and caring through a motivational story. He acknowledged the fact success of a student depends upon the cordial connect between both the school and the parents. The school director N.K Duggal reiterated that 'Silence and Smile' is the key to success. He encouraged the students to develop  in them a habit of self introspection .School Principal Dr Manisha Sharma exhorted the students to show concern towards the underprivileged sections exhorted the students to show concern towards the underprivileged sections of the society and reminded the students that they should not forget their responsibilities while enjoying the fruits of freedom.










AMOGH_ 2008



School celebrated its Annual Sports Meet - AMOGH - 2008 on 22nd November 2008. It began with the school Principal Dr. Manisha Sharma's address in which she laid stress on sports an integral part of holistic development of students. Mr Satyajit Sanskrit Administrator Tuglagabad, Shooting Range was the chief guest.

The Sports Day witnessed tremendous participation from the faculty and students and provided the students with a welcome relief from the strenuous academic schedule. Students participated in various events, athletic competitions and drills. the highlight of the day were Skating, Taek won do, and Yoga Drills. The star attractions of the day were the Hoopla wonder and the Bhangra the little champion of Umang Special School won the heart of many by participating enthusiastically in various competitions. The best sports person award was bagged by Ishu for BasketBall, Monika for VolleyBAll, Tapan for Football, Ojaswi and Nikita for TableTennis.

The Tug of War between faculty and the parents drew maximum cheers from the crowd.

The School Manager Mr. Rajeev Duggal proposed the vote of thanks and made an insightful point when he equipped that sports should not end with the sports day and it's the culture of sports and physical fitness that we should look to inculcate . Under the able guidance of the school P.E.T. Ms Sunaina Sharma and Mr. Sunil Choudhary. The Sports meet received a huge success and enthusiastic participation.

An Event with a difference


Bosco Senior Secondary School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi celebrated the spirit of peace and joy at its annual fete held on December 28, 2008. The annual fete was an event with a difference as it aimed to sensitize young minds to spread peace and joy all around.

The carnival commenced with a find rendition of theme song

“ Peace and Joy as new year’s manifesta” followed by a colorful well choreographed dances which were very well applauded by excited and exuberant crowd. A large gathering thronged the arena. There were various games, eatables stalls put up by the school children and also Umang Special School children. The musical chair, Tambola, Magic Show and the elephant ride kept the crowd busy right from morning till evening. People seemed to enjoy thoroughly as they were not willing to leave even after sunset. The event ended with the ‘Mega Lucky Draw’. Mr. Rajiv Duggal, Manager of the school gave away the prizes: Microwave, Cell phone and many other attractive prizes to the lucky winner.


The Shimmering pink décor set the right mood of gaiety and joy.     














8th Management Development Programme on :Leadership in Educational Administration

Leaders mobilize and work with others to achieve shared goals and to create a sense of purpose and direction. An effective head needs to be both a leader and a manager .In this context one week training programme was organized by NUEPA for the principals of C.B.S.E affil. School. There were   around 33 participants from 30 states of India. Dr. Manisha sharma principal of Bosco Sen. Sec. school attended the programme. It focused on issues related to leadership, managerial effectiveness, understanding an managing skill and other leadership development issues in Senior secondary School. The main objectives of the programme were.


1.     To acquaint the participants with the emerging issue in leadership .

2.     To build their capacities in different aspects of management development – managing conflict and problem solving skills.

3.     To develop their capacities in the aspects like instructional supervision and teacher development

4.     To acquaint them with the issues of globalization.


The programme Director was Najma Akhtar, H.O.D Educational Ad.,   Dr .R.S. Tyagi Assistant Professor NUEPA coordinated  the programme. In concluding session on January 9, 2009 ,the participants were given away  the certificates by the V.C Mr. Ved Prakash.








Bosco Public School, Sunder Vihar, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi celebrated Republic day as a mark of an acceptance of its responsibilities to lead India into a glorious future.

Mr. Balram Khajanchi, Senior member of managing committee graced the occasion with his presence. In its relentless pursuit to pay homage to the self sacrificing and devoted leaders, the students of the school presented a plethora of programmes the commenced with unfurling of the national flag. Drawing an inspiration from our glorious past the students of the school presented a musical programme which enthralled the audience and made them tap their feet to patriotic tunes.

2008-09 were accoladed and awarded. The Best House Trophy (cultural) was bagged by Gandhi House.

The school Director Mr. N.K. Duggal praised the students for putting up a fabulous show and exhorted the students to face the future and march with confidence towards the goal of taking our country on top of the ladder. School principal Dr. (Ms.) Manisha Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
